Friday, May 27, 2011 - Louisville, KY to Evansville, IN

We went to The Kentucky Derby Museum, where Stephanie got to stand with the winner!

And ride her own steed...to "show."

And they're off!

And he's off! Go Todd!

Poised for victory?

In the paddock, checking out the goods.

Our friend, the guitar player Mark Johnson, made these picks. It says so on the bottom left of the screen. We shoulda listened. Hi Mark!

Greetings from Churchill Downs!

Go! Go! Go!

The winner!

We did not pick the winner.

We stuck around for the next race even though we didn't bet. So we didn't lose!

The Winner's Circle

Welcome Derby Fans!

Does someone live in the house on the bridge? Must be tough getting mail!

Welcome to Indiana! (the northern portion of Kentuckiana)

No, I swear! I'm not from THAT Leavenworth!

Buh-bye Hoosier National Forest

Welcome to Santa Claus, Indiana!

Todd and Stephanie and a new friend.

Brain-washed animals!!!!

Driving that sleigh

Parents: be warned!

Hey Santa! Your mom!

The saddest place on earth

Beach Santa, throwin' horns

Just outside Santa Claus, Indiana is the dining capital of Indiana. Maybe.

"I was born in the backseat of a Greyhound bus, rolling down..."
"Get your kicks, on..." a different one

Psst! Don't eat the golden cream!

We arrived in Evansville, IN, the home of the Evansville Otters. They were playing the Gateway Grizzlies. These teams are in the Frontier League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball.

Evansville, IN is also the home of Todd's favorite baseball player: Donnie Baseball! (Don Mattingly)

Another horse. This one would have won today at Churchill Downs.

A brief acknowledgement of the woman who sang the National Anthem today. She was AMAZING!

Go Otters!

Rick Davis for Mayor?

Winnecke for Mayor?

We suppose #42 is not retired in the Frontier League.

Old-timey baseball uniform and old-timey beard

New pals (Eva and Evan)

We swear this looks like Geena Davis

Otter-mobile

Everybody...BOOST!

The umpire got a ding in his wing and the game was stopped for about a half hour.

Todd can almost touch the sky!

Sumo Wrestling!

The balloons look like Light Sabers

Happy Birthday, Todd Hundley!

Stephanie was really worried about this between-inning "game."

What's the other half?

You rang?

Y(mca)

Look Mommy! This is what we did! (she's the tiny one on the left in the above picture)

Unfortunately, the Otters lost.

The butterfly was still happy, though.
